The club runs 30 minute classes during school terms. They take place in two locations – Haywards Heath on Tuesday mornings and in Ardingly on Friday mornings. Members swim in small friendly classes according to their ability.
The lessons take place in shallow or deep water according to the swimmer’s confidence and ability. The aim is to improve some or all of the main strokes: breaststroke, frontcrawl, backstroke and even butterfly. Of course everything is achieved at the swimmer’s own pace and nothing is compulsory!
Swimmers are encouraged to exhale with the face in the water. This improves the streamlining and avoids a neck pain which can result from swimming with the head held high.
Water skills and perhaps some synchro will be used to improve the strokes and to provide variety!
